Just returned from a wonderful day out with George, Kate and Jon Fisher. We went to a very beautiful and very Japanese restaurant in the countryside outside the city about 40 mins by express train from Shinjuku station. The restaurant was an oasis of greenery, water, and utter tranquility. We had our own private dining house with sliding doors made from paper and bamboo matting on the floors. The meal consisted of at least 5 courses and half the fun was not really always knowing what exactly you were eating! I did feel guilty admiring the large carp in the pond after just eating one of their relations along with some wasabi and soy! All served up by gorgeous petite kimono-clad ladies. A real treat. Thank god Joff didn't burst into Un bel di!!
